Body found in Fort Washington well

Prince George's County police say a body has been found in a well in Fort Washington and authorities are working to retrieve it.

Police say the body was found in the 11900 block of Old Fort Road behind an unoccupied home on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say they need to excavate around the 20-foot well to remove the body and that there is a concern of the well collapsing.

They also must determine if any underground utilities are near the well.

Police say it may take until Friday night to remove the body.
